Batavia opens warming center

BATAVIA – During extremely cold weather, Batavia opens its city hall to provide a warming center for people needing a break from the cold.

Batavia City Hall also is open if one needs a warm place to go because of a power outage, furnace problems or other emergencies. During normal business hours, people should check in with the receptionist on the first floor at 100 N. Island Ave. At other times, check in with the front window at the police department, located across the lobby. For more information, call the city at 630-454-2000.
