Batavia police reports

• Thomas R. Grimston, 26, of the 300 block of Douglas Road, Batavia, was arrested Jan. 10 on a Batavia Police Department warrant.

• A cellphone, credit cards and $50 in cash were reported stolen Jan. 10 from a locker at a business in the 700 block of North Kirk Road, Batavia.

• Derek Zipprich, 45, of the 2000 block of Walnut Avenue, Hanover Park, was charged Jan. 11 with retail theft less than $300 at Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia, as well as with criminal trespass to land.

• Andy V. Panagouleas, 27, of the 1100 block of Dorr Drive, Sugar Grove, was charged Jan. 12 with retail theft less than $300 at Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Unwanted text messages were reported as harassment via electric communication Jan. 12 in the 200 block of Stone Manor Circle, Batavia.

• San Martin Trejo Jr., 23, of the 1200 block of Bishop Street, West Chicago, was charged Jan. 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs combination, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after reportedly hitting a parked car, improper lane use, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended driver's license in the 100 block of State Street, Batavia.

• Criminal trespass to land was reported Jan. 13 in the 1000 block of Pueblo Drive, Batavia. According to the police report, a few days earlier someone reattached a sump pump hose and expelled water into a basement. The water softener control board was damaged, and it is estimated to cost $206 to replace.

• About $300 in damage to landscape fencing at a home was reported as criminal damage to property Jan. 14 in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street, Batavia.

• Graffiti was spray-painted on the west-side wall under the Wilson Street Bridge, according to a Jan. 15 report of criminal damage to property. The report stated that words in matching paint were seen on the pump house on East Wilson Street.

• Two people were suspected of taking lamps for a lizard cage from a business in the 400 block of North Randall Road, Batavia, according to a Jan. 15 police report. The items were recovered, and the two were asked not to return to the store.

• A Social Security phone scam was reported as fraud Jan. 16 in the 700 block of Lathem Street, Batavia.

• Eric K. Garcia, 21, of the 29800 block of Thornton Drive, Kingston, was arrested Jan. 16 on two Kane County warrants for failure to appear, one related to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and the other for driving with a suspended driver's license.

• Items valued at $433.95 were recovered after the alleged thief fled from Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to a Jan. 16 report of retail theft.
