Batavia police reports

• Diana R. Mujica, 28, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, Aurora, was charged Jan. 17 with retail theft less than $300 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Marcus D. Holland, 41, of the zero to 99 block of North 12th Street, St. Charles, was arrested Jan. 17 on a Batavia Police Department warrant related to a charge of retail theft.

• An overnight burglary was reported Jan. 17 in the 1400 block of Beach Street, Batavia.

• A wallet was stolen, according to a Jan. 18 report of theft at Sam’s Club, 501 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• A garbage can was reported stolen Jan. 18 in the 300 block of Orion Road, Batavia.

• A possible forgery involving the use of a signature to remove money from an account was reported as fraud Jan. 18 at a bank in the 100 block of South Batavia Avenue, Batavia.

• Marijo C. O’Brien, 21, of the 2500 block of Looking Glass Court, Aurora, was charged Jan. 18 with retail theft less than $300 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Joshua J. Zukauski, 36, of the zero to 99 block of Joy Street, Sugar Grove, was arrested Jan. 19 on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear related to a charge of disorderly conduct.

• Two burglaries to motor vehicles were reported Jan. 19 in the 1300 block of Brandywine Circle, Batavia. In one instance, a GPS was taken. The second vehicle was riffled through. It was unknown at the time of the report whether any items were stolen from the second vehicle.

• Someone sprayed yellow paint on the south side of the city water tank at 433 E. Wilson St., Batavia, according to a Jan. 19 report of criminal damage to property.

• Jarid P. Leannah, 33, of the 400 block of Hamlet Street, Batavia, was charged Jan. 20 with domestic battery.

• Six full-size kegs valued at $180 were reported stolen Jan. 22 in the 100 block of East Wilson Street, Batavia. A witness flagged down an officer, according to the police report. It stated that a red pickup truck drove off as the victim grabbed onto the bed rail and was dragged to the end of an alley. The victim later located the vehicle at a scrap yard in Aurora and came to the Batavia police station to report that he spoke with the pickup truck’s driver and advised him that he would not file a complaint if the kegs were returned within an hour. The victim provided the license plate number for the pickup to police and later called the station to say the kegs were returned.

• A woman’s wallet was reported stolen Jan. 22 at Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia, after its owner left it behind in a cart and found it missing when she returned to the cart. The wallet was recovered when video footage showed an employee placing it into a blue bin; the wallet’s owner did not pursue charges, according to the police report.

• Four bottles of Cognac valued at $203.96 were reported stolen Jan. 22 from a business in the 100 block of North Randall Road, Batavia. The complainant, who spotted a woman removing the merchandise and concealing the bottles in her purse, provided a vehicle description and license plate number to the police.

• Melissa I. Oehlerking, 42, of the 500 block of Ellen Lane, Batavia, was charged Jan. 23 with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.

• Richard L. Logan, 37, of the 1200 block of East Wilson Street, Batavia, was arrested Jan. 23 on a Will County warrant for failure to appear.

• Karisa B. Blake, 25, of the 500 block of Grand Avenue, Aurora, was arrested Jan. 23 on a Batavia Police Department warrant related to a charge of retail theft.

• A cellphone valued at about $1,000 was reported stolen Jan. 23 from the parking lot of a business in the 1200 block of North Raddant Road, Batavia.
