Batavia to close schools Friday because of snow

Anticipated snowfalls lead to classroom closures

BATAVIA – Current weather forecasts predict a strong likelihood that extreme weather conditions will create hazardous travel conditions, so all Batavia public schools will be closed Friday, according to a news release.

"Our first priority is the safety of your child," the release stated. "There is also no school for our students with alternate placements outside of BPS101."

In addition, all extracurricular activities are canceled Friday. Coaches and sponsors will communicate plans for any rescheduled extracurricular activities.

Among the various ways to keep in touch, the schools' website at www.bps101.net will have notices posted by 6 a.m. and people can call the emergency advisory line at 630-937-8899 for updates anytime.
