BATAVIA – The Batavia Depot Museum is gearing up for spring and its 2018 victory garden exhibit by hosting a seed swap at 10 a.m. March 17 at the Lodge at Laurelwood, 800 N. River St., Batavia.

The public is invited to bring their excess seeds, clean pots and garden supplies to swap with other garden enthusiasts, a news release stated. There will be a free exchange of seeds and a seed-starting station.

“Victory gardens brought communities together as part of the war efforts of World War I and II,” Museum Director Jennifer Putzier said in the release.

The cost is $5 and proceeds will benefit the 2018 victory garden exhibit and the Batavia Environmental Commission. The seed swap is sponsored by Menards.
