GENEVA – Garden plots are available to rent at the Community Gardens at Prairie Green at the intersection of Peck and Bricher roads, the Geneva Park District announced in a news release.

Community Gardens will be open from dawn to dusk from April to October. Plots are available on an annual first-come basis, with returning gardeners receiving priority.

The Community Gardens at Prairie Green offers people the opportunity to grow fruits, vegetables and flowers.

It gives them a chance to spend time outdoors with nature, to share gardening knowledge and skills with others, the release stated.

Extra produce is donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva.
