GENEVA – Garden plots are available to rent at the Community Gardens at Prairie Green at the intersection of Peck and Bricher roads, the Geneva Park District announced in a news release.
Community Gardens will be open from dawn to dusk from April to October. Plots are available on an annual first-come basis, with returning gardeners receiving priority.
The cost per plot is $45 for residents and $60 for nonresidents, the release stated.
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green offers people the opportunity to grow fruits, vegetables and flowers.
It gives them a chance to spend time outdoors with nature, to share gardening knowledge and skills with others, the release stated.
Extra produce is donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva.
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green is a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, city of Geneva and the Kane County Forest Preserve District.
