Courthouse comments allegedly frighten plaintiff

Victim reports handyman stated: 'You'll regret this'

GENEVA – A person who is suing a former handyman in a civil case reported that the handyman makes comments he feels are threatening every time that they go to court, according to Kane County Sheriff’s reports.

The victim reported his concerns April 2, that when he was at Kane County Courthouse, 100 S. Third St., Geneva, the handyman said to him, “You’ll regret this. I know where you live. I have friends that can help me and I’m not going back to jail,” reports stated.

The victim told police that when he asked the man if the jail comment was a threat, the handyman shrugged, reports stated.

The victim wanted the incidents documented; deputies told him to notify court security at future court dates, reports stated.
