Geneva second-grader's art chosen for Swedish Days kids' brochure

'What Swedish Days Means to Me' prompted hundreds of entries

GENEVA – The Geneva Chamber of Commerce announced the winner of the cover design for the Swedish Days Kids’ Brochure, according to a news release.

The design created by Charlotte Wilkinson, a second-grader from Williamsburg Elementary School, will be seen on the 2018 Swedish Days Kids’ Brochure which is distributed to Geneva elementary schools, the release stated.

Swedish Days will be held from June 19 through 24.

Elementary children were asked to draw “What Swedish Days Means to Me,” prompting hundreds of entries, the release stated.

A great number of entries came from the Geneva Park District Kids’ Zone Before/After school program participants, which made the decision difficult, the release stated.

Wilkinson was a participant in this program, the release stated.

Information on the Swedish Days Festival supported by Northwestern Medicine can be found at genevachamber.com and in Geneva shops and restaurants in the coming months.
