Batavia police reports

Criminal charges filed

• A theft was reported April 4 at Bee-Attitudes Antiques, 9 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.

• Fraud that occurred between Dec. 13 and March 2 was reported April 4 at Feece Oil Co., 1700 Hubbard Ave., Batavia.

• A comforter valued at $29.96 was reported stolen from the self-checkout aisles April 5 at Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Corey W. Bachtell, 22, of the 600 block of Blackhawk Drive, Batavia, was arrested April 5 on a Batavia Police Department warrant for failure to appear on charges of retail theft and leaving the scene, according to a police report.

• Sebastian Vargas, 20, of the 800 block of Bishop Street, West Chicago, was arrested April 5 on a Batavia Police Department warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of between 10 and 30 grams of marijuana, resisting an officer and less than $300 in criminal damage to property, according to a police report.

• Maria Cuautli, 44, of the 1600 block of Whispering Oaks Court, West Chicago, was charged April 6 with retail theft less than $300 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Two mini bottles of alcohol were reported stolen April 6 from the Circle K at the Shell station at 108 N. Batavia Ave., Batavia.

• Shane O. Moczynski, 20, of the 1300 block of Aster Court, Batavia, was charged April 6 with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, following too closely and possession of alcohol by a person younger than 21 in the 1200 block of North Raddant Road, Batavia, according to a police report.

• Retail theft was reported April 7 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• David A. Wing, 35, of the 600 block of North Van Buren Street, Batavia, was charged April 8 with aggravated unlawful restraint, unlawful restraint, assault and interference with reporting domestic violence, according to a police report.

• Burglary to a vehicle was reported April 8 in the zero to 99 block of North River Street, Batavia, with stolen items including electronics valued at about $150, two pairs of sweatpants totaling about $120 and a backpack worth about $30.

• Someone spray-painted graffiti on the east side of a building in the 300 block of North River Street, Batavia, according to an April 9 report of criminal damage to property that occurred between April 6 and 9.

• In an attempted scam, someone demanded a woman provide three $2,000 gift cards from Best Buy or Walmart, or U.S. Marshals and local police would be called to the woman’s home in the 100 block of Dixon Drive, Batavia, according to an April 9 police report, which noted she instead called police.

• An obscene video was contained in a text sent to someone in the 1200 block of Nary Court, Batavia, who reported it to police April 9.

• A theft in the 300 block of North Van Nortwick Avenue, Batavia, was reported to police April 9, involving an electronic vapor pen valued at $85 being taken from the victim by a person who fled, but afterward agreed to return it.
