As the Kane County Cougars were finally preparing to play on their home field, over a week after their originally planned home opener, the weather turned on us again.
We watched from the press box as the grounds crew members and front office staff struggled to tame the tarp that shielded the field from rain and snow. The tarp blew every which way and tangled the staff members.
I thought it was the perfect metaphor for what this season has been like so far, and how we are all just hoping Mother Nature will finally let up and let us have our spring.
