BATAVIA – It’s time to mark calendars for a bevy of events with a healthful twist taking place June 2 in downtown Batavia.
The morning kicks off with the Race to Market 5K at 7:30 a.m., which will take place in conjunction with a WellBatavia lineup of activities, fitness classes and exhibitors, plus the 23rd opening day of the Batavia Farmers’ Market back outdoors on North River Street, just north of Wilson Street, according to a news release from Batavia MainStreet.
The market will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through Oct. 27.
The Race to Market 5K will be run on a certified Fox River Prairie Path course starting at the Farmers’ Market and ending back downtown at the WellBatavia event.
Race to the Market 5K is part of the 2018 Fox River Trail Runners race circuit. To register, visit shawurl.com/39dl.
People can sign up now for the free fitness classes that will be part of the WellBatavia lineup.
The WellBatavia Fitness Stage is designed to provide the community with a venue to experience a variety of the healthful living choices offered downtown and around the area. Among the classes will be yoga, tai chi, Nordic walking and zumba. Registration is offered at wellbatavia.com/main-st.
