St. Charles woman killed in car crash near Elburn

Vehicle rollover claims life

ELBURN – A 31-year-old woman was killed in a car crash early July 4 near Elburn, according to a Kane County Sheriff's Department news release, which identifies her as Yoselyn Mondragon of the 1900 block of Forrest Drive, St. Charles.

At about 2 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries on Route 38 west of Route 47, the release stated. The initial investigation indicates that a Chevy Trailblazer was traveling west on Route 38, west of Route 47, and for an unknown reason left the roadway on the south side of Route 38 and rolled over, the release stated.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where she was pronounced dead, according to the release, which noted there were no additional vehicles involved in the incident.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
