Mary Lopez is the new director of Town and Country Library in Elburn.

ELBURN – Everyone is invited to the Town and County Library 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, July 28 from to meet new library director Mary Lopez. She comes to Elburn with experience from leadership roles at the Harold Washington Library Center, the Joliet Public Library, and Northlake Public Library District. From her time at different libraries, Lopez has become proficient in library management and attuned to the unique needs of each community.

One of her top priorities as director is to refocus on meeting the needs of all library patrons. She would like to hear about patrons’ experiences and hopes for the library in the future.

“It’s important to invite the community to talk about this Library and what we can do to make it better,” Lopez said. “The library is the heart of a community. Great communities deserve great libraries.”

Complimentary treats and coffee will be provided and no registration is required. All patrons are invited to drop by, say hello, have a snack, and share thoughts about the Library. For more information, visit the library’s website at elburn.lib.il.us or call the circulation desk at 630-365-2244.
