In Focus: Going Hollywood

Hollywood came to Elburn last week as the upcoming HBO show “Lovecraft Country” was filmed on Route 47. The show’s production team also transformed downtown Elburn into a small town in the 1950s.

Dozens of onlookers watched as a scene involving a car carrying stars Courtney B. Vance and Jurnee Smollett-Bell turned North onto Main Street from North Avenue, and stopped in front of the former Ream’s Elburn Market location, now fashioned into a diner. The scene played out multiple times for a couple of hours.

While standing in the patio area of Schmidt Towne Tap, several patrons commented on how much they had learned about the business of making a television show.
