GENEVA – Patricia Anderson Photography at 217 S. Third St., suite 90, Geneva, is a collective of four women photographers.

Anderson, who is the owner and operator, said she created a collective housing three other photographers to offer every types of photographic work in one location.

“I offer newborn photography and family photography,” Anderson said.

Indigo Skye Photography by Meghann Edgerton is also children and family photography, she said.

April Marie Photography by April Duda is lifestyle and documentary photography, which means the subjects are unposed and interactive, Anderson said.

Laurel+Prairie by Sarah Yoder a photographer for weddings and events, she said.

“We’re all new businesses,” Anderson said. “We’ve all been in business before and we’re going to be sharing the space as a collective. We all operate as individual businesses and we have come together to offer every type of photography anyone could be looking for. Any need – somebody covers that area. It’s a one-stop shop.”

Anderson, Yoder and Duda all live in Batavia and Edgerton lives in St. Charles.

Anderson said she chose Geneva’s Third Street to locate her business because it would be located with many other small businesses.

“Third Street is, without a doubt, such a beautiful area and you’ve got such an awesome community of small businesses,” Anderson said. “It was a no-brainer. When I got a brick-and-mortar shop, I was waiting for the perfect spot and as soon as this became available … everybody jumped on it.”

Anderson, 34, had a photography business in Chicago for six years. She moved to Batavia 18 months ago and operated out of a home studio. She opened the shop in December – then went on maternity leave for three months, so it was empty for a bit.

“It’s tiny, 600 square feet, but I’m the only one who uses the study space for newborn sessions,” Anderson said.

A ribbon cutting initially scheduled for Aug. 9 will be postponed until October, Anderson said.
