GENEVA – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, R-Plano and the Republican nominee for state representative in the 65th District, Dan Ugaste, will host a grand opening of their joint regional campaign headquarters from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at 10 W. State St., Geneva, officials announced in a news release.
“I hope all our supporters from all over the far west and northwest suburbs join us for a celebration that will be long on donuts and short on speeches,” Ugaste stated in the release.
“This is just a little party to let everyone know where we will be located for the final two-month push to energize voters and inform them our plans to make the state and federal governments work better for suburban families,” Ugaste stated in the release.
“Congressman Hultgren and I are especially interested in speaking to voters with young families in the district who are concerned with the direction of the Illinois economy and the increasing tax burden on homeowners,” Ugaste stated in the release. “We need to engage more people who understand that a government that is not responsive to its citizens leads to the type of financial instability that we hope to fix moving forward.”
Hultgren, who is seeking his fifth term, is facing Democratic challenger Lauren Underwood of Naperville in the Nov. 6 general election.
Ugaste, of Geneva, is vying with Democrat Richard Johnson to represent the seat to be vacated by State Rep. Steve Andersson, R-Geneva, who chose not to run for reelection.
