Batavia registration event planned to protect people with memory loss

Elderday Center, police team up

BATAVIA – The Batavia Police Department and Elderday Center have teamed up to protect residents with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, offering a registration event for elders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22.

The event is set at the Elderday Center at Bethany Lutheran Ministry Center, 328 W. Wilson St., Batavia, a news release stated.

Residents will be photographed, and medical conditions and medications will be noted. Historical data such as former addresses, places of employment and favorite haunts will be gathered – information that could be helpful if the person ever wanders off or becomes lost. The information will be maintained by the police department.

For more information, call the center at 630-761-9750.
