Kaneland (1-4) played against the wind in the opening half, but it didn’t stop the Knights from controlling possession. Then, with the wind at their backs for the final 40 minutes, the Knights broke the game open, scoring three times in the opening 10 minutes.
“Coming right out of the gate really strong is what we wanted for our first game in conference,” Jahns said. “This was our first game where we really did that and we got the outcome we wanted.”
Bottorff scored twice in a game for the first time since he began playing for the Knights. The junior delivered just 5:36 into the second half and then again less than a minute later, pouncing on a cross from Alex Dhom and sending it off a defender and in for a 4-0 advantage.
