BATAVIA – Roads have been closed following a traffic crash with injuries at about 4:50 a.m. Sept. 14 in the 500 block of North Randall Road, according to a news release from the Batavia Police Department.
"Randall Road will be shut down completely from Mill Street to Fabyan Parkway until the investigation is complete," the release stated.
Preliminary results of the investigation indicate that a disabled vehicle in the northbound outside lane of Randall Road was struck by a truck that was northbound in the same lane of traffic, the release stated.
"There were several serious injuries reported in this crash," police officials stated in the release.
The investigation is ongoing and the Batavia Police Department is being assisted by members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, according to the release.
Drivers are warned to stay away from the area and select alternate routes for their travels. Northbound traffic should use eastbound McKee Street to northbound Western Avenue as a detour around the crash scene, the release stated.
