Wildlife center in Elburn seeks loan of 2-horse trailer

Loaner needed for release of fawns

ELBURN – Rescued fawns at the Fox Valley Wildlife Center are ready to be released and to facilitate that, the organization is looking to borrow a two-horse trailer to transport them back into the wild, officials announced in a news release.

The fawns need to be acclimated to the trailer enclosure slowly so they won't be frightened on the day of transport, and this process takes approximately two weeks, the release stated.

The wildlife center would like to borrow the trailer starting Sept. 24 or Oct. 1 for two weeks.

Anyone who is able to enable the wildlife center to transport these deer back into their natural environment by lending a trailer, please send your name and phone number to a-krueger@sbcglobal.net.
