"We were kind of in a lull before this tournament, and I think we came out with more energy," Davine said. "We definitely pushed a lot...we got our groove back. We were playing more as a team, talking and communicating."
St. Charles East (15-11), meanwhile moved on to the bronze championship against Plainfield Central, where the Saints lost 12-25, 25-21, 25-19.
"[I'm] pleased with the overall effort today of our kids," St. Charles East coach Jennie Kull said. "They did a nice job turning it around from our last match yesterday, and it seems like they are really coming together and doing some nice things. We just ran out of steam at the end there again."
