Batavia (4-10-4) may have been the underdog against Oswego East (14-6-2), but the teams tied 1-1 at Batavia on Sept. 1.
“We knew it wouldn’t be easy,” Wolves coach Steve Szymanski said. “They’re always good, organized and tough, so we knew it would be a 1-0 or 2-1 kind of game. Both teams had opportunities and they finished theirs and we missed a couple. That’s the crazy thing about soccer. It doesn’t matter how good you are or how great the season is, it’s one game and that’s it.”
Batavia still has never lost to Oswego East.
Eddie Torres, who has been taking free kicks for the Bulldogs all season, set up Kahley for the lone score.
