CASA Kane County hosts annual luncheon

Keynote speaker Exavier Pope explains how he overcame the odds in the foster system

CASA Kane County hosted its 8th annual Super Heroes Luncheon at the Q Center in St. Charles on Thurs. Nov. 1.

Keynote speaker Exavier Pope, who was in the Illinois Foster Care System, told the nearly 600 guests in attendance that he overcame the odds because one person believed that he was “special.”

CASA has 300 volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children on a daily basis to ensure that they are cared for in the state’s foster care system. For more information about CASA Kane County, visit www.casakanecounty.org.
