GLEN ELLYN – Veterans Barbecue, maker of Veterans Q Barbecue Sauces & Rubs, will release its 2019 Barbecue Boy Toys calendar to raise funds for veteran organizations from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 in Glen Ellyn.
It will host the release party at Ellyn’s Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, a news release stated. There will be food, giveaways and an opportunity to meet some of the models featured in the calendar.
Ellyn’s Tap & Grill also will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from the “BBQ Giveback Food Menu” to veterans organizations that Veterans Barbecue supports.
The calendars are available to the public at VeteransQ.com for $14.99.
“What is better or funnier than guys with dad bods eating barbecue food while in boudoir poses – this calendar will provide us the opportunity to raise money for veteran organizations that we support,” Steve Lulofs, president of Veterans Barbecue, stated in the release. “The sole propose of our company is to raise funds for creditable veteran organizations while putting out great products.”
Veterans Barbecue has set a goal to sell 1,000 calendars before the end of the year. Almost all the men in the calendar are military veterans themselves.
“We wanted to do something different and outside the box, that was funny and uncomfortable at the same time," Lulofs said. "This calendar does all of those things and more. Another great thing about this calendar is that all of the models volunteered their time."
Veterans Barbecue in Huntley was established in 2017 as a for-profit company that donates 100 percent of profits to veteran organizations, according to the release.
Veterans Barbecue currently has one barbecue sauce, Veterans Q Original Barbecue Sauce, which has been available to the public since February 2017. Consumers can find national award-winning Veterans Q Original Barbecue Sauces & Rubs in 200 stores and restaurants across 10 states and online at Amazon.com and VeteransQ.com.
