Sales from Culver's calendar to benefit Geneva-based Northern Illinois Food Bank

ST. CHARLES – Offering more than $50 in coupons and coloring opportunities galore, the 2019 Culver’s calendar will also offer something much more when purchased at restaurants in St. Charles at 4068 E. Main St. or in Lombard at 1155 S. Main St.

Available for just $5 until supplies run out, Culver’s owner Scott Martenson has pledged to donate proceeds from sales of the calendar to Family Shelter Services and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Geneva-based Northern Illinois Food Bank is a nonprofit organization with a goal of solving hunger in its 13-county service area. It relies on generous donors, volunteers, and community partners – the local food pantries and feeding programs, companies, foundations, and individuals who join with in its vision for no one to be hungry in Northern Illinois.

Helping educate children on where their food comes from, Culver’s farm-inspired calendar and coloring book shows a variety of farm scenes, including growing crops and caring for animals, to promote conversations about farming and provide an opportunity for children to showcase their artistic abilities

Founded in 1976, Family Shelter Service, the only domestic shelter in DuPage County, offers comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of domestic violence, creating a safer community for all.

“It’s important that our younger guests be educated about where their food comes, and our adult guests on how the Northern Illinois Food Bank provides support for those living in our own neighborhoods who may not have enough food to eat,” Martenson said in a news release from Culver's. “In that same realm, it’s also important that we promote the wonderful support offered by our friends at Family Service Shelter.”
