GENEVA – Garden Plots are now available for rent at the Community Gardens at Prairie Green, located at the intersection of Peck and Bricher Roads in Geneva, according to a news release from the Geneva Park District. The Community Garden is open from dawn until dusk between April and October.
The plots are available on an annual first-come, first-served basis, with returning gardeners receiving priority. The cost per plot is $45 for Geneva Park District residents and $60 for non-residents.
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green offers the opportunity to grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers, spend time outdoors enjoying nature and share gardening knowledge and skills with others.
Excess produce is donated to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green is a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, City of Geneva and Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
