• Five rings mostly with diamonds valued at $11,400 were reported stolen March 9 in a burglary to a house in the 03N500 block of Meredith Road, Virgil Township. Also reported stolen in the same burglary was a Glock pistol valued at $575. The home’s residents believed the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on March 8. According to reports, the handgun was taken from a locked gun safe that was pried open. Entry was gained possibly through a broken garage door that led to an unlocked interior entry door, reports stated.

• William D. Dalton, 29, of the 600 block of South Fadia Street, Maple Park, was charged March 10 with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08 percent. Dalton was found passed out behind the wheel of a tan Chevrolet Silverado in a ditch at Thatcher Road and Root Lane at 3:29 a.m., reports stated. Dalton told police he fell asleep because he had been stuck in the ditch since 11 p.m. reports stated.

• A resident of the 6N500 Illinois Street, St. Charles Township, reported a home burglary March 2 in which two pairs of glasses, valued at $200 and $3 in change was missing. The resident told police he had just returned home after being in the hospital to find that his glasses and change were missing and that someone had left a bowel movement in his toilet – something he did not do, reports stated.

• Cash in the amount of $4,700 in hundred dollar bills was reported stolen March 3 from a home in the 42W400 block of Keslinger Road, Blackberry Township.
