GENEVA – In Geneva’s contested 2nd, 4th and 5th Wards, incumbents Michael Clements and Craig Maladra and newcomer Gabriel Kaven emerged as winners in the April 2 consolidated election, according to unofficial results.

In the 2nd Ward, Clements had 311 votes to challenger Tad Hemming’s 263 with five of five precincts reporting, according to unofficial results.

In the 4th Ward, Gabriel Kaven received 390 votes to Paula Merrington’s 359, with four of four precincts reporting, according to unofficial results.

In the 5th Ward, Maladra garnered 383 votes to challenger Tom Simonian’s 237 with six of six precincts reporting, unofficial results show.

Simonian had been a 5th Ward alderman, but did not seek election in 2016, instead ran an unsuccessful campaign for mayor against Kevin Burns in 2016.
