Voters return McCormick to Geneva D-304 School Board

GEA-supported candidates Saxton, Cabeen also win

GENEVA – Voters returned incumbent Michael McCormick to the Geneva District 304 school board along with two newcomers endorsed by the teachers union, according to unofficial results in the April 2 consolidated election.

With 1,684 votes and 24 of 24 precincts reporting, McCormick emerged as the top vote-getter in Tuesday’s contest.

Alicia Saxton received 1,462 votes and Robert Cabeen received 1,452 votes, unofficial results showed, both of whom were endorsed by the Geneva Education Association.

Katherine Frye, with 1,140 votes, was the third candidate with GEA support, but apparently did not garner enough votes to make it to the board.

Jessica Breugelmans received 1,266 votes, Jill Johnson received 1,009,
Al Gaston 907, Kim Edwards received 296 and Prerak Patel got 321 votes, according to unofficial, incomplete results Tuesday night.
