Lexi Hanson, a second-grader at Anderson Elementary School in St. Charles, suffered several broken bones, a spinal injury and cuts and bruises after she was struck while riding her bike around 1 p.m. Sunday on Geneva Avenue near the intersection of Courier Avenue in St. Charles Township.

Lexi was airlifted from the scene to Lutheran General Hospital, where she is expected to remain for several days or even weeks, according to a family member.
