ST. CHARLES – A St. Charles man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a car in St. Charles Saturday night.
The St. Charles police and fire departments responded at 5:44 p.m. to the crash, which occurred in the 2500 block of East Main Street on the city's east side. Gustavo Sanchez Pineda, 49, was westbound on East Main Street when the 2002 Suzuki motorcycle he was driving hit a car that was stopped in the center median waiting to make a left hand turn, according to a news release from the St. Charles Police Department.
Pineda was ejected from his motorcycle, which continued traveling east into the westbound lanes and hit a third vehicle, the release stated. He was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he later died, according to the release.
