The 20-year-old Alexander was recently selected to participate in the Midwest League All-Star Game, to be held June 18 in South Bend.
But he still remembers the rollercoaster ride of draft night.
"[They] just told me what I'd provide to the Diamondbacks," Alexander said. "They wanted me. It was a rollercoaster ride. Two, three hours later, my brother [CJ] got picked after that."
In 36 games entering Thursday, Blaze Alexander is hitting .264 with four home runs and 23 RBIs. Alexander will be joined in the All-Star game by teammates Alek Thomas, Buddy Kennedy and Blake Workman.
