[Mark Busch - firstname.lastname@example.org]Angel Acevedo, Kaneland, senior, outfield/pitcher: Acevedo struck out 67 in 34 1/3 innings while posting a 5-2 record. The Bradley commit also led the team with his .393 batting average.Nick Black, Geneva, senior, third base/pitcher: Black was one of the area's most dangerous offensive threats with 43 hits, 40 RBIs and six home runs. Black hit .377 and had a .702 slugging percentage. [Karen Naess for Shaw Media]Blake Breon, Geneva, senior pitcher/infield: Breon, an All-Conference selection, struck out 36 in 51.1 innings pitched. Offensively, Breon hit .387 with 23 RBIs and three home runs. [Sandy Bressner - email@example.com]Nick DeMarco, sophomore, St. Charles North, shortstop: A Notre Dame recruit, DeMarco was tied for third on the team in hits (41), first in home runs (five) and second in RBIs (36). DeMarco was also utlilized as a closer, tossing seven saves on the year.Dillon DiIorio, Marmion, senior, outfield: DiIorio, a team captain, posted a .313 batting average and .430 slugging percentage. DiIorio had six doubles, 12 RBIs and 16 runs scored. [Mark Black for Shaw Media]Kyle Hayes, St. Charles East, sophomore, first base: Hayes swatted nine home runs and had 24 RBIs for the Saints. Hayes, who slugged.653, hit a walk-off home run against Geneva on April 20. The senior infielder hit .415 with a .570 slugging percentage and 32 RBI on 44 hits. Hein will play football collegiately at Wisconsin-Whitewater. [Interstate Studio 63001]Danny Kinney, Burlington Central, senior, pitcher: Kinney, 8-0, was one of the area's most unhittable pitchers. The Kishwaukee River Conference Pitcher of the Year, Kinney struck out 86 and had an ERA of 0.74. Kinney surrendered just 26 hits and 21 walks, and allowed six earned runs in 56.2 innings pitched. Kosmetatos had 102 strikeouts, walked only nine and had a 0.47 earned run average. [Sandy Bressner - firstname.lastname@example.org]Brad Niedzwiedz, Batavia, senior, pitcher: Niedzwiedz, the DuKane Conference Pitcher of the Year, led the Bulldogs' staff. In conference play, he finished 5-0 with a sparkling 1.62 earned run average. Niedzwiedz also struck out 37 batters and walked only five.
