Another example of the attention paid to detail is the eclectic array of eye-catching art that dots the walls, unified by a musical theme. One unusual grouping near the indoor-outdoor fireplace turns rolled sheet music into the petals of a giant bloom ringed by vinyl LPs folded to resemble flowers.
The menu is full of such temptations as ahi tuna poke; crab beignets; wild board empanada; bouillabaisse; crispy spicy honey chicken and waffles, burgers; pistachio-crusted halibut; shrimp and polenta; and spring vegetable campanelle pasta with Parmesan broth, roasted yellow squash, zucchini, peas, sweet peppers and Tuscan kale, to which chicken confit can be added.
Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. There are many reasons to return to Cadence Kitchen and Co., which hit all the right notes on our visit.
The Mystery Diner is a newsroom employee at Suburban Life. The diner’s identity is not revealed to the restaurant staff before or during the meal. The Mystery Diner visits a different restaurant and then reports on the experience. If the Mystery Diner cannot recommend the establishment, we will not publish a review.
