The July 18 meeting is open to the public

BATAVIA – The Kane County Genealogical Society will host its next meeting at 7 p.m. July 18 at the Batavia Public Library.

The presentation for this meeting was originally planned to be a workshop that was to be facilitated by a member of the KCGS. However, Tina Beaird will now be presenting a webinar on "Great Lakes Regional Archives (Chicago): Getting the Most out of Your Visit." The information is based on Beaird's webinar as well as material presented by Thomas MacEntee at the meeting on June 23.

A group discussion will follow the presentation, and volunteers are needed to facilitate the workshop and discussion. Anyone interested in facilitating the workshop should contact John Balk at johnbalk.kcgs@gmail.com.

Attendees are requested to register at the Batavia Library web site at http://bataviapubliclibrary.evanced.info/. After the calendar is displayed click on the presentation and the registration form will be displayed.

Visitors are encouraged to attend.

The mission of the Kane County Genealogical Society is to gather and preserve regional historical records and serve as a country-wide educational resource for those interested in genealogy.
