Community Corner: Scarecrow Fest returns Oct. 11-13

Join the St. Charles Business Alliance in downtown St. Charles Oct. 11-13, 2019 for the 34th annual Scarecrow Festival. The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11, and go through the weekend ending at 5 p.m. on Oct. 13.

Throughout the weekend take part in all of the fun, family-friendly activities planned, included more than 100 unique handcrafted scarecrows on display. These scarecrows are all made by local families, businesses and clubs and will be located in Lincoln Park all weekend long. Make sure to stop by the informational booth to vote for your favorite scarecrow.

Also in Lincoln Park, there will be tons of free live entertainment. Local dance troops, roaming entertainment and local bands will keep you entertained all weekend.

Have you always wanted to make your very own scarecrow? You will be able to stuff, dress and take one home! Supplies will be available or you can bring your own special clothing to personalize it. Then head to the Windy City Amusement Carnival which can be found in the parking lot at Third and Cedar Streets. Check out our website for specific times the carnival will be running and to see their unlimited ride specials.

In Pottawatomie Park, visit the vendors with a variety of jewelry, metal art, stained glass, photography and more during Autumn on the Fox River Arts & Crafts Show.

Lastly, make sure to see everything downtown St. Charles has to offer during and after the festival. Downtown businesses will have their very own scarecrows on display for you to find. Enjoy mouth-watering food, specialty drinks, discounts and live entertainment at different establishments! Check out the Scarecrow Festival website to see a full weekend schedule of events at www.scarecrowfest.com.
