Lester Yesnick, 69, of Batavia is charged with solicitation of a sexual act.

BATAVIA – A 69-year-old Batavia man was charged with solicitation of a sexual act and disorderly conduct after a woman complained that he offered her money in exchange for a sexual act, Batavia police stated in a Sept. 16 news release.

Police had received a report about the man on Aug. 31. The woman reporting the incident said that the solicitation of a sexual act occurred while she was completing contracted work at his home on Aug. 29, according to the news release.

The woman refused the offer and left the residence.

After police completed their investigation, they identified Lester M. Yesnick of the 2000 block of Wagner Road as the man who allegedly solicited the offer, the release stated.

Yesnick turned himself in to police.

Both charges are misdemeanors, but the solicitation is the more serious charge, punishable by up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,500 if convicted.
