ST. CHARLES – Beginning Oct. 14, the Friends of St. Charles Public Library will suspend all donations of gently-used books or other materials in preparation of the library’s renovation and temporary move to Haines Middle School.
Patrons who wish to donate their items should check with other nearby libraries or charitable organizations. The fall used book sale is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 and from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Huntley Meeting Room. This is the last sale before the library moves to Haines.
While the library is under construction, the Friends will be coordinating other fundraisers in lieu of their bi-annual book sale. However, the Friends will continue to sell books and other items in the lobby.
Established in 1979, the Friends of St. Charles Library is committed to raising funds in support of the library for the benefit and enhancement of its services, programs, facilities, staff, and the community it serves.More information is available by calling 630-584-0076 or online at scpld.org/friends-st-charles-public-library.
