• A resident of the 38W700 block of Bonnie Court, St. Charles Township, reported Oct. 1 that he was defrauded of $300 to stop Commonwealth Edison from turning off his electricity. The resident deposited the payment at a kiosk at an Elgin gas station, after he was given a five-digit code to enter, reports stated. ComEd confirmed that they did not call the man and that the kiosk is a RockItCoin ATM which uses Bitcoin, reports stated.
