Sugar Grove homeowners' meeting results in threats

Threat at meeting: 'I'm going to take you out'

SUGAR GROVE – A member of a homeowners association in Sugar Grove reported to police Sept. 21 that she was threatened by another homeowner at an association meeting at the Sugar Grove Township Community Center, 141 S. Main St., Sugar Grove.

According to police reports released through the Freedom of Information Act, the other homeowner was incensed about a letter regarding an association board member.

The police report was redacted to remove the name of the homeowners association.

The woman said the other homeowner, a woman, “moved closer to (her) in an agitated, threatening and intimidating manner. (She) then used her right hand with her index finger extended and thumped the victim’s upper chest saying, ‘I’m going to take you out.’ (She) thumped her chest for each word she said.”

Several other homeowners stepped up and stood between them to stop the battery, the report stated.

The victim told police she was worried that the other woman would come to her house and threaten her.

She did not want police to speak to the the other woman, but made a report for documentation.

Police directed her to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office for an order of protection.
