From 2005 to 2025, the market area of DeKalb, Kane, Lake, and McHenry counties is projected to grow an amazing 34%.

Kane and McHenry counties lead the way with projected growth of 46%.

Several communities in Shaw Suburban Media’s market area are projected to more than double in population, including Huntley, Hampshire, and Elburn.

The majority of residents moving to the Suburban Frontier are coming from Chicago and other suburbs. These new residents possess household income and education levels well above national averages.

The Daily Chronicle serves DeKalb (home of Northern Illinois University) and DeKalb County with an afternoon print edition and a morning-distribution newspaper on weekends. Affiliated publications include two free-distribution weekly newspapers: The MidWeek, which has its office in Sycamore, and Valley Free Press, with an office in Sandwich.
