
Arcada announces September lineupKANE COUNTY CHRONICLE ST. CHARLES -- Ron Onesti, of Onesti Entertainment, has announced the September lineup for the Arcada Theatre. Entertainment for all ages will be offered, and Onesti said the September lineup is "just a sneak peak of what will be previewing at the theater from now on." * On Sept. 16, Mary Wilson, an original member of The Supremes, will perform her Motown hits. She will perform alongside The Reflection as they perform their electrifying tribute to the Four Tops and other cherished Motown favorites. Doors open at 7 p.m., show time is at 8 p.m. * SLAM Wrestling, founded by wrestler/ promoters, Nick and Ray Cortese, is a sanctioned professional wrestling organization that holds the AWA Illinois license-AWA SLAM Wrestling, Chicago. AWA SLAM is home to the current AWA World Tag Team Champions, "The Henchmen,"made up of comprised of Adrenaline and Buddha the Beast. AWA SLAM includes local, regional, national and international wrestling personalities. * The talented and legendary lead singers of the bands Sugarloaf, Rare Earth, Blues Image and Iron Butterfly will present Classic Rock All Stars at 8 p.m. Sept. 24. Jerry Corbetta, founder, keyboardist and former lead singer of Sugarloaf, will incorporate the group's greatest hits, including the tune that smashed the charts, "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You." Peter Rivera, ex-singer and drummer for Rare Earth, rocked the '70s while selling more than 25 million records. Rivera has been noted as "the best rock drummer and vocalist of the 1970s." He helped the group reach nationally acclaimed status by creating hits such as "Get Ready," "I Just Want To Celebrate," "Willie Remembers," and the double record set that went double platinum, "Rare Earth In Concert." Mike Pinera, former vocalist and guitarist for The Blues Image and Iron Butterfly, received his first gold record for The Blues Image song, "Ride Captain Ride." When the band split, Pinera joined Iron Butterfly, which was the first group to be awarded a platinum album. Dennis Noda, a bassist, began his musical career with the group Cannibal & amp; The Headhunter. The group can be recognized by the hit "Land Of A Thousand Dances." * Also showing at the Arcada will be Friday night feature films, Friday night creature feature, Saturday night feature, Saturday children's matinees at 1 p.m., and Sunday night classics at 6 p.m. Films ranging from "Gone with the Wind" to the "Harry Potter" series' also will be featured.
