Arbor Creek files to disconnect

CAMPTON HILLS - Another group of property owners is seeking to disconnect from the Village of Campton Hills.

A majority of property owners in the Arbor Creek subdivision and an adjoining parcel, comprising at least 20 acres, filed a lawsuit in Kane County Monday. The filing represents 162 homes, attorney Timothy Elliott said.

Village attorney William Braithwaite he has not seen it yet and does not know how it affects the other pending disconnections.

Most of the other Campton Hills disconnections are under a provision in state law where property owners in a newly incorporated municipality can seek to disconnect within a year. Campton Hills was incorporated by referendum in April.

In its fight against other attempts to disconnect, officials argued the loss of growth potential and revenue would cause too much harm to the village.
