New: Man dies from crash injuries

By: KATE THAYER
kthayer@kcchronicle.com A man thrown from his truck in a crash last weekend died from his injuries today.

Sheriff’s police said Ryan Campbell, 24, of Burlington, died at Delnor Hospital in Geneva. He was taken to the hospital on Oct. 11 after a crash at Route 47 and Beith Road in Campton Township.

The other man in the crash, Earl Wilkerson, 57, of Elburn, now faces aggravated drunken driving charges in the crash, police said.

Wilkerson already was charged with misdemeanor DUI after the crash, but charges were added upon Campbell’s death.

Police said Wilkerson’s Dodge Durango was eastbound on Beith Road and went through a stop sign, striking Campbell’s Chevy C-150 at Route 47.

Campbell was ejected from his truck upon impact and may not have had his seatbelt on, police said.

Wilkerson is still being treated for non life-threatening injuries at Delnor.
