The Fab Four at Paramount
The Beatles tribute group will take the audience through every era of the group’s career Friday at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. There are three costume changes in the act. STC North soccer team aims for state
The St. Charles North boys soccer team faces Rockford Boylan at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the IHSA Class 3A Barrington Supersectional.
The winner of Tuesday’s game advances to the state tournament.
The North Stars were seeded ninth in the Wheaton North Sectional, but they captured the championship, defeating Geneva, 3-1, in the title game. North is 14-8-2 on the season.

‘Pocahontas’ headed to Steel Beam Theatre
The Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles presents “Legend of Pocahontas.”
Shows will start at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at the theater, at 111 W. Main St.

Pro players will appear at Tri-Cities grand opening
Team members from the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer and the Chicago Red Stars of Women’s Professional Soccer will appear at the grand opening celebration of the Tri-Cities Soccer Association’s new indoor soccer facility.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 731 N. 17th St. in St. Charles.

Learn how plants, animals are named
“Put a Lotta’ Latin in Your Life” will discuss how plants and animals got their names. The class will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pottawatomie Community Center in St. Charles.
The class is part of the ongoing series, “Learn from the Experts,” sponsored by the forest preserve district and the St. Charles, Geneva and Fox Valley park districts.

Geneva United plans rummage, bake sale
Geneva United Methodist Church will host its bi-annual rummage and bake sale 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The church is at 211 W. Hamilton St., corner of Second and Hamilton.
All items that can fit in a bag will be $5 Saturday. Proceeds benefit charities such as TriCity Family Services, Lazarus House, Grace Children’s Hospital, Appalachia Service Project, Fox Valley Hospice, Suicide Prevention Services and Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Tri-Cities Soccer plans free training
Tri-Cities Soccer Association will host free training sessions for recreational soccer players Thursday and Friday at its indoor arena, 731 N. 17th St. in St. Charles. Registration is required.
The goal is to provide fundamental skills training for the player looking for ball mastery, speed and agility. Registration is limited for 45 students each day. To register, visit www.tcsa.net.

Children’s Boutique at Davis Elementary
Davis Elementary School PTO seeks sellers and volunteers for its annual Children’s Boutique from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the school 1125 S. Seventh St. in St. Charles. A half-off sale will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
There is a $2 registration fee for sellers. Admission for shoppers is free. Volunteers can shop before the sale opens and receive a 70/30 split. Donations are appreciated.

Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo return for another adventure as “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” opens Friday at theaters. They find themselves in the vast plains of Africa, where the zoo-raised crew will encounter species of their own for the first time. While discovering their roots, they find the differences between the concrete jungle and the heart of Africa.
