BATAVIA -- A fire at Rideau Package, Inc., 1861 Hubbard Ave., was put out Monday night by firefighters.

The Batavia Fire Department was dispatched to the warehouse fire at 7:22 p.m., and the fire was under control by 7:45 p.m. There were no injuries.

According to a release from the Batavia Fire Department, its firefighters responded to a local fire alarm and upon arrival found smoke coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters then found rolls of plastic sheeting in the rack storage system in the warehouse on fire. The heat from the fire inside the warehouse activated the sprinkler system, which kept the fire in check.

Damage is estimated at $175,000.

Assisting with the fire were fire departments from Geneva, St. Charles, West Chicago, Fermilab, and North Aurora.

The cause still is under investigation.
