Frolic and fishing for the 4th of July

By TIM KANE - tkane@kcchronicle.com

ST. CHARLES – Saturday, in the park, and it definitely was the Fourth of July.

Grills were smoking in Pottawatomie Park. People were throwing Frisbees and kicking soccer balls.

Many pitched tents to stay out of the occasional drizzle.

And many anglers were fishing in the Fox River.

Rafael Diaz, a resident of Chicago [left] and Miguel Rodriguez, 13, of Franklin Park,  pulled nice-sized channel catfish out of the river Saturday  morning.
