ST. CHARLES – A teen accused in a fatal crash will be allowed to attend hockey practice on a college team as he awaits trial.

Onofrio Lorusso, 18, of Wayne, is charged with multiple counts of reckless homicide and aggravated drunken driving in the June 14 crash that killed 17-year-old Cameron Godee of West Chicago – a recent St. Charles East graduate.

Prosecutors say Lorusso, also a recent grad, had a blood alcohol level of 0.227 and marijuana in his system when he drove a vehicle into a tree in the 3100 block of Royal Fox Drive in St. Charles.

He appeared in court on Thursday after his case was reassigned to Circuit Judge Timothy Sheldon.

Lorusso's attorney, Vince Solano, asked that Lorusso be allowed to attend practices and games for the Robert Morris College hockey team while he's out of jail on $50,000 bond.

Prosecutors did not object, but requested a schedule for the team.

Lorusso remains on electronic home monitoring with a SCRAM bracelet while out of jail on $50,000 bond. The Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor detects alcohol consumption.

Lorusso is expected to be arraigned at his next court appearance on Aug. 21.
