Sheriff’s police offering Halloween safety tips

By The CHRONICLE
Comments (...)

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office reminds parents to be cautious this Halloween.

Safety tips are available on the Sheriff’s Web site – www.kane
sheriff.com – along with OffenderWatch – a sex offender mapping and alert service.

In Kane County, there are about 400 registered sex offenders, according to Sheriff’s police.

Police ask parents to look up addresses to avoid when trick-or-treating.

Police also suggest carrying a flashlight and to consider safety when picking a child’s costume.

For more tips, visit the Web site.

For more information on the OffenderWatch program, call Kane County Sheriff’s Detective Dave Thorgeson at 630-208-2037.
