Brenda Schory spoke with George H. Scheetz, 57, of Batavia, while he was on the job as executive director of the Batavia Public Library.
Where did you grow up? Omaha, Nebraska.
Family: I'm single.
Pets: My two cats, Ashley and Willie.
What's the last song you listened to? Love Story by Taylor Swift.
What was the last costume you wore for Halloween? I was dressed like a greaser, I had a cigarette pack rolled under my sleeve – don't smoke – like James Dean, and I was with a group of guys who were back-up singers for a party.
What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? I have actually thought a lot about this. I'd make a donation to the library and then I'd probably buy a new car.
If you could have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pork chops, mashed potatoes and peas.
What's your favorite local restaurant? Stockholm's in Geneva and Tusk Thai Cuisine in Batavia.
What's your favorite thing about the city you live in? Its friendliness.
If you could change one thing about your town, what would it be? More retail business in the downtown area.
